Dr Revi Pressman
Osteopath, Dr Revi Pressman, graduate of the school of osteopathy in Southern Cross University, has made a few significant moves in her life but considers her biggest move was from the world of IT to the world of osteopathic medicine.
Her personal experience of the power of osteopathy in relieving pain and helping her to go back to normal function was followed by the decision to become an osteopath. This was a life-changing experience for Revi and she realised that her passion was to help people to experience that change, this time acting as the practitioner.
Revi has the advantage of remembering what it feels like to be young and ‘invincible’ but at the same she is fully aware of age-related fragility. This deep understanding helps Revi to relate to patients of all ages and stages of life.
Revi offers osteopathic treatment which is aimed at improving physiological function and/or maintaining the stability of the human body’s internal environment in response to changes in external conditions.
Revi sees in her practice a wide variety of conditions and presentations: head and neck, back, upper limb and lower limb as well as short-term and long-term pain, putting emphasis on the importance of improving mobility and breathing in addition to relieving the pain associated with the condition. The treatment can also provide pre- and post-operative care to improve overall health and well-being while using gentle techniques.
With extensive training in and superior knowledge of anatomy and physiology, Revi uses her hands to diagnose and treat the human body. She has developed a profound sense of touch to help diagnose and treat her patients.
Revi offers unique interpersonal skills which allow her to provide a supportive and comfortable environment for a wide variety of patients with differing needs.
Compassionate, empathetic and always enthusiastic, Revi approaches each patient with a gentle touch and the ability to listen with a caring attitude. She welcomes each patient with a wide smile.
Through her work, Revi promotes good health and encourages her patients towards appropriate nutrition, keeping hydrated, regular moderate exercise, sufficient sleep and the ability to relax and breathe properly.
Revi strongly believes in the body’s ability to heal itself with personalized treatment enhancing the process. To that end, Revi offers a tailored treatment to suit your specific needs while incorporating a compassionate, holistic approach to achieve optimal treatment outcomes thus promoting health and wellbeing.
Osteopathy is a form of manual healthcare which recognises the important link between the structure of the body and the way it functions. Osteopaths focus on how the skeleton, joints, muscles, nerves, circulation, connective tissue and internal organs function as a holistic unit.
Using skilled evaluation, diagnosis and a wide range of hands-on techniques, osteopaths can identify important types of dysfunction in the body. Osteopathic treatment vary from person to person and uses the body’s natural movement patterns as part of a holistic treatment to ease pain, improve movement, wellbeing and optimise the self-healing process of the body.
In Australia, osteopaths are university trained in anatomy, physiology, pathology, general medical diagnosis and osteopathic techniques. Osteopaths are primary healthcare practitioners who are trained to perform standard examinations of the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, respiratory and nervous systems.
Osteopaths assess the mobility of problem areas, ask you questions and make a diagnosis to work out the best treatment plan for each patient.
